The Ten Little Fingers Curriculum

Our curriculum is evolutionary, developmentally appropriate, play-based and embedded on the project approach.  One of our main goals when we designed the curriculum was how to strike balance between academics and socio-emotional development (which includes art, drama, music and movement).  Part of our curriculum as well is not only fully educating our children but providing them with quality care that springs from the relationship we deemed to have strengthened with their parents’ involvement.   Our medium of instruction is English but the school encourages the development of mutilingual capabilities in our children.

Adventure
Children are encouraged to explore the environment, provide them with plenty of outdoor space where they can discover nature.  They are allowed to touch, smell, hear, and even taste their world for a total sensorial experience.
EMI will give them opportunities to think like astronauts, scientists and engineers. This is also a way for us to re-evaluate the experiences they live and activities we provide to further support them in developing skills most essential in life as well as communicating their needs and capabilities.

I Belong
To foster social and cultural awareness in our children.  That they may learn their role, importance and uniqueness in society and the diversity of our world.

We would like to promote family and community involvement programs that would recognize their authority, establish mutual trust and respect, support their involvement in their children’s educational growth and showcase how learning and development are integrally connected to such relationships.

Swirls & Ripples
We aim to unify our children’s experiences by providing an evolutionary curriculum that is relevant and engaging through the use and combination of a multitude of approaches that will integrate areas, themes and interests.

Color Pencils
This will develop creativity in children through the arts by providing them with art materials and allow them to express themselves without restraint.  We believe that creativity is the highest form of intelligence and that each child is a creative genius.  We also believe that children have hundreds of languages, and it is our task to help our children comfortably express each of them.  We also believe that setting this environment would put emphasis on how children will decide about what and how they learn.

Tipping Toes
To develop bodily-kinesthetic through music and dance.  This will foster health and over-all well-being amongst children.  Through this feature, our children will be able to learn and showcase what they can do with their bodies.  This will also promote good health and flexibility in our children.

Colorful World
We believe that education is the path to a democratic society.  We promote a play-based curriculum that would be facilitating open-ended exploration wherein the child is being absorbed in spontaneity of experience.  That they may freely develop cognitive, physical and socio-emotional domains simultaneously. We also believe that the cognitive component in play evident in language acquisition, listening and decoding, and verbal and non-verbal communication skills are essential in their growth and learning.

And that socio-emotional development is evident in sense of affection, self-regulation, sympathy and sustaining positive behavior in children.

Magic Carpet
Our curriculum will transport children to a different world through various ways.  One of which is applying Vivian Paley's "storytelling curriculum".  This is when a child dictates a story to his teacher, after which, the children are asked to dramatize the story.  This activity will build creativity, spelling, reading and verbal skills.

iRobot
We support children's technology development and expertise by guiding them as they use, explore, engage and immerse themselves in ICT like computers, systems and other technological advancements.  We shall include capturing children's collaborative projects that we would be featuring from time to time and seek for constructive feedbacks from them as well.

Hugs&Hearts
One of our primary goals is to make our children resilient by providing a curriculum that cares for all the facets of our children’s lives.  We believe that families and communities play a significant role in our children’s learning and that the quality of their involvement determines the quality of education that our children receives.

Me, Myself & I
We would like to promote our children’s identity, complexity, self-esteem and emotional well-being through various approaches that foregrounds diversity, equality and values integration.
